How to Choose the Right Size

Our lampshade sizes are measured by the diameter at the bottom of the shade.

  • For Table Lamps

    Aim to match the lamp base height to the lampshade diameter - for example, a 35 cm base pairs best with a 35 cm shade. In most cases, XS, small and medium sizes are ideal.

  • For Floor Lamps

    Choose a medium, large or XL shade, depending on the scale of the lamp and the space around it.

  • For Pendant Lights

    Take both room size and ceiling height into account. Medium shades suit smaller spaces, while large or XL sizes create the best impact in larger rooms.

    In hallways or entryways: look to have at least 7 feet clearance from floor to bottom of shade

    How to identify: Hangs from the ceiling on a cord or chain.

    Fitting type: Usually has a ring or duplex fitting that attaches to the pendant holder.

    Measurement tip: Measure the diameter of the shade at its widest point.

  • Table & Floor Lamp Fittings

    How to identify: Sits on a table or floor with a vertical lamp base.

    Fitting types:

    • Bayonet (B22): Push and twist fitting
    • Screw (E27): Screw-in fitting
    • Clip-on: Spring clips directly onto bulb

  • Shade Carrier Fittings
